La Joya Plantation is a vast stretch of unimproved/vacant land located in Western Hidalgo County, Texas. Present ownership acquired the property in the 1990s and have only recently begun the development process. The area and this property have garnered some attention as of late, specifically because of Hidalgo County's plans to expand expressways and streets in the area.
